Blessings and Thanksgiving and a little snowangel creation

The days are flying by so fast -- I can hardly believe Thanksgiving is almost upon us . I feel so blessed today --Truly amazing experiences of God working in lives , in my family - and for others reconnecting with their roots -- Hope you can experience the Peace and Love of God today !! It is amazing .

I have been creating and will post some pics of those soon , my camera skills need work -
This picture is one of a snowman angel on a canvas I made for a n ornie swap -
The snowangel is dimensional (hard to see I know ) .I love the blue and silver together -- the little poem is a fav - and this fits my whimsey side -of my creating - not the vintage side
of my style -- But i do love cute also .
I really want to do a small tree with my silver baby cup collection and some other vintage style decorations in my dining sitting room this year - --
Have another idea swirling around -- so off to get some silvery-gray ribbon .
And i love little vignettes under cloches -- or glass domes --So working
on that also -- I meet with friends and do a SAt - workshop -- for them each Christmas -- Trying to fit it in somewhere --we all have such busy schedules

Last years Christmas offerings -- what will this year bring ???

WEll seems like Thanksgiving is almost upon us --and Christmas is coming like a freight train --I am so not ready . TOld hUbs I felt like I am two months behind !-
Last year was a lot of creative fun -- and this year I have already mailed a Christmas tag swap -- as well as a Ornament swap -you get back the number you sent -- . I did about a 12 or so -- WAAH !! was at the post office when I realized I forgot to take pics -- Some were different versions of hanger ornies , but a lot were new ideas - snow ornies etc ..

SO since I still have one Ornie swap to go -- " A 12 DAYS of Christmas Swap "
and can't post and give it away --I am sharing some pics from last year -- instead --
the Santa stocking was one I unearthed from MY Country phase( as I ws looking thru my packed up things ( ya know need to get that organizing thing done .lol ) , when I had a business - 15 yrs ago -- I cut out and painted and embellished stockings etc as well as made thousands of ornies - whew !
The santa has stars punched into his Beard -- to funny -- but I still think he is cute -- so I made a pic of him ---

WEll Happy Creating all -- am working on my 12 days swap --I drew -6 geese a laying -- wow painted geese on everything 20 years ago -- not my fav thing -- but it was a big seller -- funny how things go in and out --

CHicken crafts were very big then also -- but very country - rubbed off -- not the sophisticated Shabby french roosters we see everywhere now --

Of course, even furniture 25 yrs ago was rubbed off and chippy now those are called shabby chic and waht we called antiqued -- rubbing in brown paint in the grooves -is now called color washes - and most ornaments that were handmade also were sanded off somewhat -- not glittery like now -- ( i am a fan of both - Hence my blog name >

Hope you enjoyed a few blast from the past thoughts -- Some things are always with us -- like the little gingermen -- and more and more people seem to be embracing vintage -- So seems like things get recycled !! SO hang on to your old ideas and patterns -- just freshen them up and see them in a new way !!
Have a great weekend !!-- Glorious here !!! Church picnic will be tomorrow and 75 degrees in the afternoon -- we are expecting about a thousand people -- and I have a few other things to do to help get ready for it ---
HAPPY FALL YA"LL -- Kathy - ga ♥

It will brighten your DAy !!!! Mission Children Having FUN !!!

Wanted to post a pic of our Mission kids we work with -- parents also -- It is really HUb's ministry -- besides our own church -- We are privileged to have a Member of our church with a huge farm and lake house , with a haywagon - and a place for the kids to play . Several times a year -- our friend Dalton's small group from Church hosts -- a big cookout -- hayride and fun for the Children and parents . We just have to get them there -- and they coordinate all of it , supply the food , the cooks and the HAy ride -- The children so love it .
These children's smiles are a mile wide -- and so adorable, some are shy and do not want to have their Picture taken . -- Some come from horrific circumstances -- but some just because their parents have fallen on hard times --- Thought their smiles might brighten your day . Blessings +_ kathy - ga ♥

Christmas is a coming and the geese are getting fat -- la la la la -la la la !
Ok , that is as much as I know of that song --umm something I think -about an old man's hat -- rofl - not sure -- but I truly am thinking of Christmas -- wow love Halloween , but Christmas is my fav --
If you are looking for a cute swap == VIV _ of {Vivs-whimsy.blogspot.com }-- is having an " Elf Swap " -- It might be right up your alley --and MS VIV is one of the best hostess and blog friends ever -- I have done several each year for the last three -- so check it out --

THis is a pic I took last year -- just have to review -- as I didn't make but a couple of these last year to send out . As you can see I love vintage and cutie pie girls --
I am heating the oven for molded santa faces with polymer clay -- So gears are really changing -- That is what I am loving about creating -- so many wonderful
blogs with artist who challenge and inspire you -- I used to make a limited amount of SAntas -- 24 in tall --(when I did my art shows ) with hand molded faces --
I always put on wool long coats with a hood - old world style with fur -- or quilted coats , from old rescued quilts -- ( uh forgot to mention -- I had someone else sew them -- even tho straight stitch is within my capabilities and not my craft of choice --I so admire those like VIV and Dawn and others who are so creative that way . I hand made the toys for their sacks and purchased bells etc and real curly wool for beards . I had to focus --on the other parts for the 10 shows we were in , beginning in late Sept and ending the 2nd week of Dec. ( It really was an all year endeavor to get ready -as several of these shows drew thousands from several states . WOW, I could turn out a lot in a day -- wish I could get that mojo back again . Shows are such hard work -but so rewarding --Even more so than the money , was meeting those who liked what I created -- I love meeting people -- and I was always thankful and amazed -- that someone would pay money for my creations. So each year I wanted to have fresh ideas for my returning customers ( GOurds were another fav to Paint )-- and I truly have very little of any of those creations myself .
OK that is just a walk down memory lane --( will pull those pics out and try to scan --- Those were the days before digital -- and so none on my computer.
It really seems like yesterday , but was about 12 years ago .
Ok oven is right -- need to put the bead eyes in -- stay tuned -- they will have to have Santa blush etc -- keeping my fingers crossed here , that i can still do it .
Have a great weekend -- kathy ♥- ga

Just needed a break from Halloween posts -- The creating part has been fun and I have ideas already stored up for next year -- But i have been making halloween for months now -- Need to focus on Christmas -- I reallly love making ornaments -- in the past ---BPA -- before paper addiction --lol -- I painted in my 10 year business - thousands of ornaments -- Now i love to use many mediums .
Really the next task needs to be to design a Fall - and a new Christmas BLog Banner -- Hmmm as I check the time it is 1:40 a.m. -- so the next thing is to
find the bed lol -- I drank two cups of high test Coffee -- at a late dinner --
so that is why I am still going strong -- Even you west coast gals are probably thinking of bed -- Pleasant Dreams -- kathy - ga
