BLISSFUL DAY - Part -2

My las t blog promised a peek at the lovelies from the wonderful shop
that Kris Hurst introduced me to -- The sweet Joann presents her
wares in such a beautiful way , I think she should make a postcard
of her window decoration . All I wanted to do was gaze at it --
oh the colors and detail . To just say a Ribbon shop does not do it
justice , although there are ribbons there that are amazing , not to mention silk hand dyed It is a place that delights the eye. I hope to go when it is open
again -- This market is a once a month show . I will try to remember my camera
and take pics .

the eyelet you see is vintage . and packaged as it came to Joann
from an estate sale , notice the tag -the
quality of the paper is wonderful . Don't know if I can use it
- I just want to display it . and see the ribbons with it
oh to die for . yumm !!

These were not all the ribbons i bought -- she
has walls and walls of it - the pink . rose and blue- green
ribbon are hand dyed silk

Ribbons so wonderful , it necessitated me buying
this beautiful box at Joann's - Ribbons like these need to reside
in something beautiful .. Hope her online store will be up and running soon
will post her site then -- Have to finish my St Patricks Day swap tags !

A Bliss filled Day with Mrs. Kris herself !!!

What an exciting week I had last week . Finally I was getting to meet
the talented Kris of "Blissful Elements " Her creations and wonderful
banners are loved by many . We only live an hour or so away , and our schedules
had not coordinated - but last Sat . we finally met near her home -- where a wonderful
antique market takes place once a month . I was met with a hug, and
she is even more delightful in person than on the phone . She came bearing gifts
-so unexpected -- I have a few of her things , I dearly love -- can hardly part with something I buy to give to someone else. These are the delights she presented me with .

Her attention to detail is amazing . and she has her own special style
Did I mention -cute -- she is cute !! and sweet also .



Then I unwrapped this delight -- her paper banners are great
just like her computer ones .

and these delights , oh too beautiful -- She
has such a big talent and is so generous . We did
a lot of shopping and sharing , it was so much fun .
Sorry Kris, I will have to work on my computer skills .
My pictures certainly do not do these lovelies justice .
Also I was introduced to her friend Joann who has ribbons to die for
Never have I seen the quality and beauty of these ribbons .
Her shop was very busy . She will be opening an Etsy shop
in the near future . Will keep you posted , and show those pics in the next post

Does my heart good

We were given a tutorial on the last Bella zine -

to create a cupcake idea with these words from

Teresa herself -- You are what you eat , so eat

something cute -- as usual I am late ,this was for Last zine

(see the last post for current zine , ) But

this idea rattling in my head for a spoon idea wouldn't go away . Now

i am a vintagy ? - girl -- altho . do like and will create cute

and am definitely a cupcake kinda gal ! Finally got

around to it -- the letters on " cute "are reflecting off the silver baby

spoon a bit -- but I am so loving this now -- created the

background paper -with the torn papers - paint method

I am surely loving it -- You can use several scrap papers and paint

colors and it ends up giving you a cohesive look . A great way of using

those last bits of fav papers -- You know those , you can never find

again , and you hate to use the last . Don't say __ " What ?? "

OK, tell me about your paper fetish -- ?? come on I know ya got them !

I have some I love too much to use -- Crazy ?? you girls understand it

Yes, I am talking to you ! you know who you are LOL > OK this

old lady needs to toddle off to bed now -- Slept in front of T.V. now

checking on blog friends and -my blog -- crazy -- will have to drink

lots of coffee in the mornin, - Or as my cute daughter says --

"Drink it till ya Shake " and then you've had enough -- Ok .

can't get started about the coffee fetishes in this family ,

My grown children have people bringing coffee back from

their trips to other countries -- My hub's Sicilian friend

his co. makes beautiful iron gates etc - brought us some

back from his recent trip -- kids got there eyes on it --

It is probably so strong will walk across the floor on it's on .

May need that in the morning .That is a story for another day

4:25 a. m. here- yikes -- will sleep a coupla hrs - Gotta

get the Valentine creations finished for family and special friends

Creating with the Real - Sweet Bella herself -Teresa McFayden

What a busy and fun week this has been ! Monday started off the
new Bella -zine (online ) called Sweet Bella - to honor Feb
where sweet treats abound . This zine is fabulous . three times a week
we receive an online tutorial , sometimes with downloads , and always
with inspiration and new ideas , from Ms Bella herself ,Teresa Mc Fayden .
The plaque below is really paper , but looks like tile and is so easy --
In class she used a notebook to do this technique , but you use what you have
and the ideas abound. On the designated flikr site , we can post our creations .
Wow if that doesn't get your inspiration groove on -- then nothing
will .





angels are some of my fav . things to use , so i
used a pink papers combination , which is my fav color.




these bows are at the bottom of the next creation . I
love Martha's seam binding . such sweet sherbert colors.



On the tutorial things were sewn -- i did sew the
lace and buttons -- next I do want to use my machine
tho . The picture was a download from a very old story
book -- with reference to Valentines . We were supposed
to tear the paper and place off center . This one
has a clothespin decorated(magnet on back ) to hang the card. An
idea from one of the participating bellas . THis is my finished version
with a tiny heart brad below her foot . also a little bling outlines her face
and we tinted the paper before we started- too cool .
and vintage lace and buttons . I believe this is my favorite
of all the creations . well at least for today -- Each day
is so much fun -- we can hardly wait for the next day to
come to find out what the next great technique will be .



This postcard was given as a free download gift by
Teresa on her blog - Thank you Ms Teresa !! . I added the
sentiment on the left and used it for my 130 volunteer ministry team
boxes at church today . I placed wrapped candy on the pink heart with
doublestick tape , as a Valentine gift thanking them for
having a heart for ministry .


I need to get busy , lots of friend and family valentine goodies to
create . What are you creating this week ???

MY heart full of wonderful supplies and surprises for Jenna

I was fortunate to have the lovely Jenna from Artrageousafternoon .
blogspot .com , be my partner for the "Love of Supplies Valentine
Swap " These wonderful vintage postcards and this artfully made sign
including the crystal - one of my fav. things has given me such delight .
Also included was very wide pink (fav color ) lace -- oh too pretty to use .
You can see it below with the lovely art piece by J enna. It is too too lovely .










Look inside the box amazing things to create with It is
truly amazing that the ribbons flowers etc were different
than what i have -- It makes it so nice to be able to
have things , you haven't seen locally .
Everything is so cute . I really love them --

LOok at this gorgeous paper she used on the heart, sheet music is
one of my favorite things to use in my art . and the cute
Valentine and all the fluff Way too cute . The presentation was
so pretty I don't want to change it . She also made me
a darling domino necklace -- Jenna so generous .


I will have such fun creating with these .

My fabulous " Vintage Heart Swap" from the Talented ELE

The top was so beautiful and the darling heart next to it
well some of my faves - old wallpaper the trim was amazing
my photography doesn't do it justice . It hangs up and the ruching trim
- how does she do that ?? The key --I love - I have started
collecting old skeleton keys just recently -- they are expensive
here for what they are -- Very popular and hard to find .
They are special to me - my old victorian house was opened with a key like this
when we purchased it about 30 years ago . It had no central heat ,
extension cords everywhere and a well -- well, need i mention that
to a city girl -it was a scary thing --didn't like the idea of drinking the water
We ended up boring a new well - the other had water --but yikes
squeemish here . O>K> nuff said will blog about that later - and
all my antics with the flora , fauna and -- "ANIMALS "
of course hub changed and added locks to all the doors -- but the
key plate is still there -- too wonderful .

everything is exquisite . Quite intimidating

Oh how I love boxes -- one day will do a post
on them . Look at the attention to detail - this
is about two inches wide - Gorgeous - with these lucious velvet
leaves and gossamer flowers . Notice the sweet little heart
Pink and Green are my favorite colors .



when i opened the box -- had to take a picture ,
of the beautiful display -- was itching to open it all -
the suspence was killing me . When someone really
understands othe things you like ,it is so fun - like a child with
nose against the glass window at a toy store.

There were sweet little cupcake liners and hearts for the top
- Ele you gave me an idea for one of the Winter Bella things I want to create
a cupcake idea on there - will let you know - when i post it . I am a little behind on
some projects - and I began the new one today - Sweet Bella __
Oh the sweet ribbon she sent and , do you see the other exquisite tiny heart box ,
Somehow i lost that pic -hmm - it was also fille with sweet ribbon
_Thank YOU ELE __ you mad emy day -- and caused my romantic
pink victorian / shabby chic heart to soar .

to give "7 " little known facts about myself .. since i am a newbie somewhat to the blog world --
this will be a real revelation lol .

NO -7 - I am only 5 ft tall --yes hub, I am not lying -- says I have lied forever only 4 -11 lol.
It has never kept me from doing anything but trying out for the Lakers
and of course barely reaching anything in the cabinets -- of course have bad circulation due to feet never reaching the floor when sitting in most chairs. I am not really short , just my best friends are overtall .

No. 6 - I need only dollar store glasses to see fine print , but "I can spot a flea market or antique shop a mile off .

No. 5 -It is true about Southern women -- I am a true G. R. I . T. S . -- girl - Girl Raised In The South - we can get away with saying anything as long as we say after it - Bless their heart !

No. 4 - I am blessed in many ways -- but my hub has those dreamy ice blue eyes like Paul Newman - one of my faves . -- my hub I mean !

No. 3 - I was a decorative painter for 10 yrs on the Atlanta Ga - juried craft circuit . boy
do I have painting burnout -- cutting & gluing paper is my new fave . -- my hands thank me also . LOL

No. 2 --Yes as you girls can see on my blog HA HA ! -- I am self taught on the computer --
this may seem like gibberish -- but --" I don't- know "--" what I don't know "-- you girls have been helpful lol -- can do graphics on my programs but a computer nerd I am not . What is Ram anyway ?? just kidding

No. 1 -- I am storming the doors of Congress , well maybe just the Surgeon General's
office , to make changes on the New Food pyramid --

Chocolate should be at the top of the food pyramid , It could be three good things in one -
you know -- white chocolate , dark chocolate and milk chocolate - I 've never seen a chocolate I didn't like . - You know that adage -- Life is short Eat Dessert First .

Bonus Answer _LOL - Would you believe that this very day ,.when challenged at a scrap , that anyone who would sing " The Star Spangeled Banner " at the top of their lungs - would win this huge fat , fat, pack of great scrap paper -- yup !! I did it . about a hundred people there
