Last year was a lot of creative fun -- and this year I have already mailed a Christmas tag swap -- as well as a Ornament swap -you get back the number you sent -- . I did about a 12 or so -- WAAH !! was at the post office when I realized I forgot to take pics -- Some were different versions of hanger ornies , but a lot were new ideas - snow ornies etc ..
SO since I still have one Ornie swap to go -- " A 12 DAYS of Christmas Swap "
and can't post and give it away --I am sharing some pics from last year -- instead --
the Santa stocking was one I unearthed from MY Country phase( as I ws looking thru my packed up things ( ya know need to get that organizing thing done .lol ) , when I had a business - 15 yrs ago -- I cut out and painted and embellished stockings etc as well as made thousands of ornies - whew !
The santa has stars punched into his Beard -- to funny -- but I still think he is cute -- so I made a pic of him ---
WEll Happy Creating all -- am working on my 12 days swap --I drew -6 geese a laying -- wow painted geese on everything 20 years ago -- not my fav thing -- but it was a big seller -- funny how things go in and out --
CHicken crafts were very big then also -- but very country - rubbed off -- not the sophisticated Shabby french roosters we see everywhere now --
Of course, even furniture 25 yrs ago was rubbed off and chippy now those are called shabby chic and waht we called antiqued -- rubbing in brown paint in the grooves -is now called color washes - and most ornaments that were handmade also were sanded off somewhat -- not glittery like now -- ( i am a fan of both - Hence my blog name >
Hope you enjoyed a few blast from the past thoughts -- Some things are always with us -- like the little gingermen -- and more and more people seem to be embracing vintage -- So seems like things get recycled !! SO hang on to your old ideas and patterns -- just freshen them up and see them in a new way !!
Have a great weekend !!-- Glorious here !!! Church picnic will be tomorrow and 75 degrees in the afternoon -- we are expecting about a thousand people -- and I have a few other things to do to help get ready for it ---
HAPPY FALL YA"LL -- Kathy - ga ♥

I think decorating from your heart is the key. And as I dig through my boxes, things that struck me as cute last year, might just be "eh" this year. LOL. But that's ok, that keeps it all fresh. You've got some cute things here, looking good!!!

isnt if funny how our tastes change? I could probably fill a box or a bin or two full of stuff that I used to find irresistable.. and now I think its stull cute, but can live with out it!
Youre right about the gingerbread men, though, they will never go out of style! Cant wait to see what youre making for the 12 days swap. I have found this one to be very challanging and am having a tough time with it. Made one and hate it.. so back to the drawing board! eiy yie yie!
have a great sunday!

Hi Kathy, I got quite a few of your ornaments (I think, as some were not labeled). I posted pictures on my blog. Please stop by and have a look.
As to hanging on to what you know, this is so true. I find that skills I learned in the past I can often adapt elsewhere. It makes my crafts more interesting.
