On the way to craft room organizing - a collection was found

I am still in the throes of organizing -
, while I have come so far --I have to mull
over every file and item in my studio - so I
still have a long way to go -- For a multi media
person - which I found out I was - lol, everything
is a potential art item to glue or paint or alter in some way
-and you may not need it this month , but will be perfect
for a creation next spring - Therein lies my problem ,
so many thing s - that fit just in a thing category .
It is easy to organize things that are seasonal - but
all items are not created equal --so how to find them ,
when I need them -- So I started collecting the
beautiful boxes from around my home . Who knew I had so many
'and I sure am all about loving them . The little sweetie in
the first picture is on one of those -- owie things -- a plant
frog -- how were they named that ??? Well as i started
going through things ( bags and boxes ) realized I have a small
collection of these also . I do love them , and can display
my fav cards - tags ( I am a tagaholic and an ATC lover )

as you can see i have several here - and I
have several bitty ones also .

These are some of my favorite boxes , all in the
room are filling up with supplies . I have been
a collector of things for years - This square box
on the bottom , came with Anna Griffin paper and
supplies - Then I found another in green with same supplies
at a flea mkt - lucky me !! - These are on the big shelves
( the top three shelves look good - but the bottom two have
bins that need sorting) -- had to get some things in place , for
there is no space to walk -- all the items are crying out to me
to create -- such lovelies -- once lost , in all the cluttered stuff .

This is a view of the small shelves , you saw in previous posts.
Also used some garden things to display tags --Just getting started with that
Remember I am a tagaholic -also won a contest at an Archivers
during a scrap there . Everyone had to make a tag and the winner
won all the tags -- WOO HOO !! - I won and was I happy -- will show those
later - It was near Halloween , so while others were doing
scrapbook pages , I was making cards and tags lol --
SEE the bare worktable on the left - had an ugly green plastic tablecover .
I use ink , spray ink - tattered angels (love that glimmer )
also make paste paper and other messy things with utee -
so It was in need of going bye bye _ Have been following a site
with great ideas --- Nestor --of "Nesting Place -blissfully domestic -
She has a great home and Ideas and does -- "Window Mistreatments "_
Ya gotta see it to understand -- well today she was covering her craft table
and so the plastic had to come off --It also made me feel better ,
she showed beneath her table -- ya know the place old crafts
go to die lol- Well it reminded me of someone I know intimately lol.
So now where did I put that old lace table cloth , with the hole ---- would be great around the
bottom and so chic !and I am trying to let nothing reside under there -
Only my footstool - for I am vertically challenged at 5 ft. and - my feet
hardly ever touch the ground . Ok enough blabbing
Have a great Evening -- Blessings -- KAthy ♥♥ - GA

Viv's pinkeep swap - I am a Lucky Girl ?--

Ok this is the senior moment --i was talking about below
I constantly forget that blogger -loads first pic as last -etc --
very frustrating ( this pink pinkeep is my swap for carol-she
likes pink, green . glitz. sweet things also) -Sorry Carol . wanted your adorable
gift to me to be first -- Ok you know I am electronically challenged -
I am self taught - and my doublespeak -is- I don't know what I don't know !
( sometimes there are easier ways to do things
but I don't realize it - just doing what I know or understand )-is that clear ??lol.
The blogger thingy says you can move pics around
I am so nervous about getting them on at all - SO ANYONE -- please tell me how
P. s. also the spacing on my blog -like double spaced -- did I change this somehow ?

How sweet is this ??? I was lucky enough to have

as my swap partner for Viv's pinkeep

swap - Visit Viv to see the other wonderful creations posted at http://vivoutonawhim.blogspot.com/.

I totally adore this precious Rose pinkeep ,

Sorry my pics do not show the crystal candlestick

that she created it on . Look see the strawberry one

- for some reason I am now obsessed with these ,

altho my collection in now only two .

I bought my first one not too long ago , and did not mention it

( course sometimes I have a senior moment- so maybe i did - lol )

Yikes I have a hard time thinking that of myself -

How did this happen , a girl in her prime suddenly

gets a note in the mail from senior citizens group ??

sorry the ranting sidetracked me from my mission

hmm a senior moment ? -- I am looking for more

They are so sweet -- I have a vignette planned with these ,

oops guess you have found my secret -- I love pretty ,

and I am unorganized in my craft room (working on it tho )

but everything needs to be useful and tell a story also -

so can you believe it - I bought a mini "PINK ! "

sewing machine to sew my paper creations --

and I have it all planned -- Cute little black dressing table

a wonderful $15 yard sale find - will become my sewing table

at the end of my " real " workspace table . Not ready yet tho

to show it -- the said work table is piled high with all

the things I want to sort -- very fave things ahem -that were in

all the "STUFF " i talked of organizing in previous posts .

I am getting there - but years of patterns and books ,

wood items and paints, plus the files drawers (most hated

chore )-is quite a job Don't mention books here -or mags

that is a whole other-huge- subject . Categorizing is a confusing thing also ,

for all things. I guess I am a mixed media artist ?? - I love paper crafts '

and altering anything - using paper, stamping , metal etc .

As far as stickers , etc. have always had them in rubbermaid drawers

with a label - but the pile had to be searched through - Thought of making a notebook

the ones - two or three in. wide ,with further categories -flowers ,

vintage , holidays ( have lots of christmas - halloween ) so may

break that down further - within a heavy duty pocket card or freezer -zip lock bag

that i will grommet- What ideas do you guys use ???- would love to do a blog or posts on organizing ideas --don't even know how to do those link things -
Blessings ,Kathy- Ga ♥

Studio decorating - The pink saga continues ****

Gotta' get this better organized , just make day by day progress. It is cute and YEAH !!!
most of all PINK- These are the shelves I got for $12 at
willie world -see the pink trim ! But gotta' quit playing and get to the stuff
below - Gotta ' get my priorities straight , Right ! You cannot imagine
the amount of "STUFF "-in the staging area around this room .
With the many irons I have in the fire -just have to take time to smell
the roses and create a few things also - as this is not a quick fix ,
also my 60 year old back says -- Take your time Honey !!

Well girlies , the big cabinets are in place CLAPPING and jumping

not a pretty sight - lol -- just not with all the shelves

It seems the regular sized things that hold up the shelf ,will not work

so hub got some from his cabinet guy today , but now the holes have to be

modified a little . So I wanted to post anyway - they are K and Company

cabinets that I bought when our local scrap store was closing

Then just a reg bookshelf on the side . But the sweet little "THANG " I

am using for the tv. is a baby changing table . I bought it for $20

at a flea mkt. several yrs ago - It fit in my antique booth at our local flea mkt -
we kept scissors and pricing things easily at hand in the bottom

The gorgeous fabric and trim were already on there -- and really

fits my shabby romantic look that I like . The green trim matches perfectly

with the walls - It was what my oldest son picked out ( I got the big room now

feel really spoiled ) when we decorated last before he got married 3 yrs ago.It is Ralph Lauren Paint

- he has great !!! but expensive taste -- So not changing it at this point ,

besides we have 10 foot ceilings and so takes a lot of paint -- This room is almost

square so can fit a lot in -- and I have ! just too unorganized - still

working on it -- will update as I go --I keep all my sizzix dies in the bottom of the

cabinet . ANd while not totally practical from a storage point of view - I sure do

♥♥ LUV! it . Tv was not centered either -- and sorting

hundreds of mags and books will take a while . I think I will get hub

to run a shelf to join the two and hang something decorative over the tv

AS you can see I still have to sort boxes and stuff ,

I totally changed where my table was in the room

so will reconfigure all my things i "GOTTA "

have near lol -- And as per prior posts I am

all about the decorating and inspiration part

BUt I am first about the ---convenient to

creating part -- TOOLS must be near

ya know -function comes first

*************** O>K> major Question

Please let me know how you store your paper
I went today to look( lots of paper , you would think I scrapbook
-- NOt -- It makes my scrap friends laugh--I have the 12x12 drawers from
wal-mart- but always have so much crammed in , always looking
for the right paper , even tho were somewhat categorized
I have some of those plastic dividers hold 400 sheets

but for the kids( for Mission crafts ) I buy the big

packs at Jo ann's with a 40 %off coupon-- Does anyone

have the wire ones like Hobby Lobby that have 23 shelves

Don't know it they do well or not ??? I have one that came from a scrap store,

slanted shelves for 12X12 paper-- does not work well - for cardstock etc --
doesn't hold much and always sliding off .

O >K any ideas will be appreciated almost 2 a.m. here in the deep south
I have been on Olympic time -my body clock is so mixed up now
but you do know Michael Phelps would not have own without me cheering him on
lol -- BLessings-Kathy - Ga

Organizing -- a small glimpse of beauty amidst the "STUFF"

OK, just wanted to show you there is progress .
When these shelves went in "I " had to play at decorating
just a little - these are some of my favorite things
I have created or collected . My jar fairy from
Dawn, of Feathered Nest , is my first purchased
altered piece -- sorry the pic does not show it well - can't
do a close up -lol the table it sits on , which will
be my main work space -Is totally covered with
files and STUFF- waiting to find it's home.
The shelves require a little tweaking --
maybe a little Pink-(fav)background paper.
What ya think ?????

Yesterday , worked at the church all day on
my new ministry (Volunteer Connections Team )
at church -- brand new - takes lotsa prep to get it off
the ground -- also entails coordinating all
volunteers for big events at the church --
of which we have several on our plate already -
Will post more on that later . Lotta great ideas !
WELL! on the way home had to swing by one
of my fav stops ''WILLIE"S "- Goodwill to you guys ,
a thrift store . I found a great set of shelves from
a dresser top for $12 - it is painted white and the
edges are trimmed in "PINK " -perfect . They will reside
'I think " next to the set pictured above -
Then if work goes as planned today -will get HUB -after golf to
move the big cabinets in( which have been in my entrance hall for months )
We have an old victorian house -- with a wrap
around porch - so everyone comes in the side door
nearest to the kitchen ya know - very convenient- for
a home with 3 men
who always made a bee -line for the kitchen first , to see what's cooking
or get juice or a cookie -(uh scratch that - a half a cake is more like it )
I still miss the boys(men )- they are -24married -2yrs
& 28-married 3 yrs , coming in every day --but their happy homes and my
sweet new daughters are a joy to our hearts -
So gotta get cracking -lots of sorting and moving to do
be ready -- Still have to move out a chest of drawers
belonging to my oldest son - He will move it to his house ,
they are great and perfect for a little boy ( wishing for more
grands - either type will do -lol )HUB had his cabinet
man make them -with heavy duty drawer guides , still in
perfect condition .
LOtsa doings here - youngest son just got a new truck
he is so proud -- every country boy has gotta have a truck ,
don't ya know . Of course my darling Grands -finished the
firt week of school , last week - so early -G-DAughter
is in middle school this year (6 th )grade -time flies . Grandson
also like his teacher --always a plus .
Blessings __ ♥♥♥- Kathy

Flea Market Frenzy -- I hit the big one !!!

After a long week in Bible school at night - I needed
some "me " time - hub golfs -I go to
my fav fleas - it certainly eats into your shopping budget -they
are about an hour away and with the cost of gas ,it gets pricey.
Of course i have to have a car that can haul furniture . Right !
So not very economical -- some things pictured somewire baskets in the back
and a needlepoint sign -i couldn't resist --
There is a part two to this story --don't have the pics done as yet .
You know how on the shows -you go shopping in your own house
for a no cost dec ideas --(just rearrange ) well I went shopping in my
Daughters garage -- can we say ( mother -lode ! ha ha - I made a funny )
wow - wait til you see - she was staging for her flea shop and decluttering -
her house .
So I made out well - plus she saved the price of comission to the
antique -flea mkt. she sells at locally .

This was one of the most productive and
inexpensive purchases in a while all
of these were at great prices and then on
a 25% off sale - I couldn't believe it . total
it was about $25- amazing.

all these old lace pieces were wrapped carefull as you see them -

they were all in a bag together for 2.65-?

funny pricing -The great , pink heartbox , that i am displaying

in was $1- the sticker on the bottom said

Voctoria's secret - it is a very sturdy one .

I love all the intricate work in these ,the whole

batch was only $3

the sewing items are hard to find -at least hem

tape -look at the original prices 19 -15 and -29

cents .

pink basket -was my favorite color -- and is fairly large .

All the glass canisters were found at a

thrift store ,altogether they were about $10

This great glass canister(very heavy)

is about 10 in .tall also and circumference -20 in .

I already had the lemons - needs a few more .

This dome is about ten inches tall -- the vintage style bouquet

was purchased at a anothe flea mkt .during my trip

and the metal lace plate is a fave from about 3 yrs

ago - not a bargain -but very cherished

T

His little dome was just perfect , I matched it up to another glass dish - This little cup _(sorry fuzzy pic :( was paired with a plate -

About ten years ago, on e-bay, I bought some dishes of this pattern dishes -because of the wonderful yellow and pink border- to use for display - -over the years I have added to it

I still love them - they are an unusual square shape -this baby (demitasse - i guess ? )

cup and the bread plate were only $2.50-

I love the cording and the big swirly wire and the
crystal embellishment-- It seems I can never stop adding -- stuff -- to my creations , and of course I am all about the color pink .
Ok ,will try to blog more often and need to take pics of my historic town -- Have a great day tomorrow -- " This is the day the LORD has made - Let us rejoice and be glad in it "-- Kathy - GA

This is another challenge from that same zine -

we were challenged and given ideas to cover our candles -- This was my idea of a sweet cover.

I adore cherub graphics -- and well let's just say I have a few uh well a lot ! This is on cardstock and was tied around the candle -- and has many decoupaged layers

O.k I know I am switching my banner - back and forth -- the one I worked on before the crash , is somewhere in my files -- with the back issue -- so much better ( thanks for the e mails and the comments -- I actually went to the grocery store today -- Oh the watermelon and fruit -so yummy -- that and chicken salad croissants --for lunch - mine and hubs fav !!

Anyway still looking for the banner -- The one i just displayed is a creation challenge from one of Teresa

Mc Fayden's --zine classes --- I made this for the door of my craft - er studio door (sounds like I might know a thing or two to call it a studio lol !) --
